The hilt is constructed with wooden grip scales secured by two screws and a hooked 'quillon' crossguard with a muzzle ring. The pommel includes a push-button release mechanism, currently noted as non-functional. Shows significant age-related wear, oxidation to the metal components, and heavy patina to the wood.
