Soapstone Trinket Box with Floral Inlay

A rectangular soapstone trinket box featuring a hinged lid with a floral motif. The design is composed of mother-of-pearl and dyed stone inlays depicting a flowering branch. The box is carved from a mottled reddish-brown soapstone with natural yellow and grey veining. Unmarked. Measures 3x4". Condition: Minor surface wear and small chips to the edges of the lid consistent with use.
