Antique Campaign Desk w/ Secret Drawers

Lot #575OR ·Collectibles
Antique mahogany campaign writing slope, also known as an officer's lap desk, estimated to date from the mid-to-late 19th century. Features brass corner brackets, a blank brass cartouche, and a brass escutcheon. The case opens to reveal the original slanted writing surface and interior storage compartments. The desk retains its hidden release panel, secret drawers, and the large lower storage drawer, all of which remain intact and functioning. The interior writing board is loose, and the inkwells are missing. Condition reflects its age, with expected surface wear, scratches, and heavily worn bottom felt. Measures approximately 18" W × 10" D × 7" H. An attractive decorative accessory as found, or an excellent candidate for restoration. A desirable piece for collectors of campaign furniture, writing slopes, and military antiques. Please review the photographs for condition and completeness.
